every kind of card

Pasta looks at what you copy and draws a card that fits it: a swatch for a color, a grid for spreadsheet cells, the answer for a sum. These are worked out on your computer, with nothing sent anywhere. The cards below are drawn by the same code as the app, from the example copy under each one.

Everything else you copy still gets a label from Pasta's Smart Cards, and video and meeting links get their own cards.

Cards in

Colors

A copied color shows as a swatch with its hex, RGB and HSL. Copy CSS, JSON or design tokens with several colors and the card shows them as a strip over the text.

Hex colorShows the color, and the same color as RGB and HSL.You copy#E63B2E
Hex without the #Figma copies hex without the #; it's still a color.You copy3F8F4A
CSS colorrgb(), hsl(), oklch() and the rest work too.You copyoklch(70% 0.15 250)

Tables

Cells copied from Sheets, Excel or Numbers arrive as tab-separated text. Pasta shows them as a grid, and does the same for Markdown tables and CSV.

Spreadsheet cellsA grid of the first rows, with the size of the selection.You copyMonth Visitors Downloads July 1,204 88 August 1,630 131 September 2,115 176

Code and data

Code gets syntax colors. JSON is checked: valid JSON is shown tidy with its size, and broken JSON says roughly where it breaks.

JSONPretty-printed, with how many keys or items it has.You copy{"id":42,"name":"Pasta","tags":["clipboard","mac"],"active":true}
Broken JSONFlags it before you paste it somewhere that will choke on it.You copy{ "id": 42, "name": "Pasta" "active": true }
